Computer won't boot

Hey

I had 2 gigabytes of ram in my computer, just sold one gig so i removed it, now the pc won't boot and the mobo wont post.

So this is what I tried:

First I tried a different pci-e video card... No response
Second i moved my gig of ram from slots 2 and 4 to now empty 1 and 3 ... No response
Then I moved my pcie video card from the first pcie x16 slot, to the second one, ... No response.
Then i tried the first dimm that i removed(was orginal ram from the computer) and still got nothing..

is the mobo fried? How can I tell?

have you tried putting 2 sticks of memory into it.

It might be time for the old tried-and-true removal and replace method. Take everything but the video card, cpu and 1 stick of ram out of the computer, then place components in one at a time until you get the culprit. I know you think that it's your RAM, but to me it doesn't seem like its RAM problem per say. The RAM shouldn't cause this problem unless you were screwing with the RAM slots and you ripped the stick out.

Thanks for the advice.. i finally got it working late last night.. I had to reset the CMOS.. then go into the bios and tell the computer which HD to boot of off..

this managed to get it to work.
