Sytem Specs:
AsRock K7v88 motherboard
Athlon XP 2600+ 333fsb
2 120gig WD 7200rpm HD
Geforce 3 ti 200
2 gig PC3200

The problem is this:
I upgraded a few of the components on my was working computer (New power supply, better memory, and a new heatsink) well when i had finished installing it all the computer would no longer boot. When i turned the power on the fans would all spin but it would just never beep. I tried quite a few things to fix this, but nothing has made one bit of improvemnt. I tired resetting the Cmos memory, a new processor, and even a different motherboard. They all gave me the same results. Any ideas on what could be causeing this?

Im sure im forgetting some important details, just ask if you want any more information.

1. Check your heatsink/fan and make sure its mounted correctly.

2. Take out one of the 1GB sticks of RAM and see if it boots up with just 1 stick.

3. Check Asrock's webpage to see what 1GB ram stick it suppots. IF there any issues with double sided, vs single sided compability issues.

4. Remove any power connectors to the Hard Drive, CD-rom, floppy etc. Just boot with the cpu, ram, video card. See if you can boot up from there.

I did all but 2 and 3, and i have 4 512 sticks in. That was the reason i bought the AsRock because it had 4 dimm slots for ram. Plus one of my friends has the same mobo with the same ram setup as i do, and its working fine. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Unless its the same "exact" setup, meaning ram brand chips, etc. There still could be issues. Try one stick at first, then two, etc. Are they all the same brand, speed, etc. ?

I went back and tried it a few min ago with just 1 stick and it doesnt work =(, but they are the same brand and all because we bought them at the some time. Mushkin PC3200 512 sticks they were giving them away on newegg... typo or something, but whatever it was they were free.

Mushkin value select brand?, try you buddies ram on your machine. See if it boots.

Check the motherboard's manual to see if it matters which RAM slots are used. Also, try reseating your vid card.

i just built a new rig and it would not boot up or post just monitor test screen i wiggled some wires around and puched the memory a bit and then it booted right up try something stupid like that i was about to rma a second board
