To start, here's the setup:
ASUS A8N-E
Athlon 64 3700+
Antec slk 3800 case
400 watt PS
1 GB (2x512) Corsair PC3200
evga GeForce 6600 GT PCI-E
My problems started a few months ago when the onboard sound stopped working. I bought a soundblastser audigy SE and moved on. Recently the entire computer has stopped working. When I turn the system on, it does not even beep once or make it to POST.
I first checked all the cords and re-seated internal connections.
I checked the power supply. I'm not 100% sure if it's working properly. The leds power up, the cpu and case fans spin but the fan on the back of the psu doesn't move. I'm not sure if it's supposed to turn all the time.
I have tried a different set of RAM.
I have reset the CMOS jumpers.
I have checked to make sure the monitor works.
I have tried a different video card.
I removed the sound card and dvd drives to make sure it wasn't underpowered.
All that's left that I can think of is that it's something with either the motherboard or procesor. I don't have an extra socket 939 motherboard around and fry's doesn't sell them anymore. Before I go through the hassle of buying another one online I wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions.
Thanks for any advice.
