I have conquered this problem once before but cannot seem to figure out how to do it again.

36 Gig Raptor
80 Gig WD EIDE
Gigabyte motherboard
Intel p4c

Anyone know the solution?

Thanks in advance.

Have you set the boot order properly? Most modern mobos with built-in SATA controllers require you to list SATA1 before any IDE device in the boot order.

Boot order should by Floppy, CD-ROM, SATA1.

Yes though it looks different on the motherboard. It lists as WD360 and WD800. The SATA drive is listed first. I found a solution but it isnt the one I would prefer to use. Apparently its a good idea to install windows with only the SATA drive installed so that it wont name the EIDE drive C:\ and confuse itself.

I would rather not reinstall everything if possible.
