I had this computer for almost a year now and it refused to boot up today. The fan are on and the LED light on the case are on but the computer wont boot. I try to reset the CMOS but it isnt workign either. Going to go get a new CMOS battery to see if it help.
When i turn it on, it wont post and there are no beep coming from the mobo either.
Specc:
P4 2.8 ghz
6600gt
Asus mobo
2gb rams
2 200g sata seagate( each have their own os).
400 antec modular psu.

Any advice are welcome and appreciated.

Take the pieces out and put it back together one component at a time. All you need to get through POST and boot is CPU, memory, vid card, and keyboard (don't even need the hard disk if you boot off of CD). If it won't boot with just those components you might have a powersupply problem, or a motherboard problem.

Thanks for the reply, i have tried to boot up with as little as possible and it seem like the mobo has died. the fan will spin ad all the light come up and stuff but it wont post. Btw, i have some critical files on my sata drive that i need to get access right away and i cant wait for the RMA from the motherboard. Is there a switch or something that will let i connect the hardrive to the usb port on my laptop. I live in a fairly rural area so i dont know people around much or doubt that they have a mobo with sata connection.

Then I would take the motherboard out of the case and lay it on some cardboard or other nonconducting surface, wire it up and try it again. You may have a case short. Also, don't rule out the PSU.
