The computer is running Windows XP Home. It has been running fine for two years now. Last week, I turned the computer on and the fans started but there was no beep from the motherboard. The monitor was blank. I pressed the reset button on the computer and then got the beep from the mobo and the computer booted properly. Since then, the computer will not boot until I press the reset button. (So no I have to turn the computer on and then hit the reset button to get the computer to boot). Once the computer is booted to Windows, it works just fine. I have updated the bios and cleared the cmos neither of which fixed the problem. Anyone have any idea what is causing this?

First thing I would troubleshoot would be the power supply. It may be going bad. Do you have another one you can try? Or a friends you could borrow? Be sure it's powerful enough to run what you got. Cant suggest what you would need cause you don't have your specs down.

You have not replaced any hardware right? No no Video Card or anything?
