Computer will not power on!

Is there a way to check to see if the motherboard is working if the computer will not power on??

ABIT KA7 with Athlon Classic 700 (8 months old)

Things I have checked:

1. All connections
2. It is plugged in
3. Power supply OK (power supply from another working computer does not power up.

Things I have not checked:

1. Power button
2. CPU

Thanks for help!

Is the PC speaker plugged in? Do you get any beep codes?

Have you tested with only 1 stick of RAM? (or different ram) Have you tested with another CPU?

Make sure the CPU and RAM are both seated properly.

Remove the Mobo from the case and try to boot out of the case. Install only the essentials, CPU,Memory,Video Card, case speaker, power switch connector (switchs are NOT polarized, so either way will work), mouse, keyboard. Set the mobo on a nonconductive surface (cardboard) and position it so the power supply connector will reach. If you can start it there, look for extra standoffs in you case. You should only have standoffs which line up with the mounting holes in your mobo.

Good luck

Have not tried another CPU (don't have one). I don't know if the speaker is hooked up (will check). Just got a new stick of RAM, have 2 will test those. Thanks for the help thusfar, will keep you posted (no pun intended).
