Hi there, I'm hoping one of you can help me out.
I'm trying to install a Logitech Optical Mouse on an older system that has no ps/2 or USB ports, all it has is a serial port =[
Now, I bought a Belkin USB PCI controller card to add 2 USB ports to the computer. Everything with that seems to install fine, both USB devices are installed (The Universal USB Host Controller and the USB Root Hub).
Now, I unplug the serial mouse and plug in the USB mouse and boot up windows (win98 NOT se). Windows does not find the USB mouse - instead, it gives me a little yellow exclamation point next to the USB Root Hub device in the Device Manager. The error is that "an error has occured causing the hub port to be disabled - check the device cables etc"
Its an older motherboard..obviously (but i'm not sure what make it is..) with a Pentium 1 chip 32mb ram yadda yadda.
Any suggestions of how to get this thing to work ?
EDIT: Umm...will this Belkin USB PCI controller card ONLY work with win98se and later? Meaning...it won't work properly with win98? Could someone confirm/deny that plz ?
