I'm doing recycling where I work and would like to know from you guys a couple of different computer weights. First, a 17" monitor and second, an average mid-tower pc.

17" monitor = 40-50 lbs.

Average mid-tower= 15-20 lbs.

I'm just guessing here, so don't take my word for it.

40-50 lbs. for a 17" monitor??? try nowhere close to 30?

I have a 17" CRT monitor and it feels pretty damned heavy to me, especially after carrying it for 5 blocks (long story). I believe the specs for it said that it was around 45 lbs. when I first ordered it online. ::shrug::

depends on the monitor...my digital and my NEC 21 inchers both pass 70 lbs...and I have 17s that weigh 30. your average tower...not full should weigh about 35. provided only 1 HD and CD and decent amounts of integrated components.
