I didn't know where to post this because it kinda fits all categories :)
So my computer used to work perfectly,no stutters no nothing, until yesterday.Yesterday it completely froze while I was playing league of legends(mentioned the game so you can tell how pathetic it is to crash on such a game). The PC became completely unresponsive, after 20 minutes i managed to regain control and finally i decided to restart the computer(which took approximately half an hour).Today I did some cleaning and driver updating,I thought it got better but it just froze again, this time on CS:GO.The problem seems to be only on games or when games are running.Any ideas? If you need more troubleshooting or details please ask :)
My specs:
i5-6500
rx580 8GB
8GB RAM
128GB ssd(yes i know but i have enough space free)
1TB hdd

Yeah I read it and saw symptoms which could be caused by bad RAM.

Perhaps you should get a little more experience before shooting down ideas which go against whatever wagon the crowd are jumping on atm.
currently i am looking for proof because otherwise i could just buy an entire new pc...can you provide some ways to troubleshoot ram?

While it could be bad ram, the fact that the errors are all on the non boot hdd and that SMART throws up various other issues indicate a bad hdd. One would expect bad ram to cause corrupt files on the boot drive, since that's where the OS makes most of it's read/writes.

The op could always run a memtest in case more than 1 thing is wrong with the computer...
It requires making a boot drive, so hopefully the op has an extra usb drive or blank cd sitting around.

Directions on making a usb bootable memtest

Directions on how to run it.

Only 6722 power on hours and it is biting the dust....

My own WD Gold 39,036 hours..but it has only 272 power cycles.

UPDATE:So I brought my PC to a specialized and authorized service.Turns out my PC was configured in a weird way,the guy there who was about 45 years old and has been working in this domain his entire life said he had never seen something like it.I didn't remember much of what he said because I was just happy to have my computer working again, but he said a part of windows was somehow installed on the hdd which was broken as you know and that's why my entire PC was faulty.I told him to install the windows on the new 1TB ssd as you guys advised me and oh boy it feels new.I will use the old 120GB ssd as random storage from now on.Thank you all for your help :)

Inexperienced people tend to build a computer with all storage drives connected and install Windows like that, which (often enough) results in some bits going on to secondary drives.

Experienced people tend to only have the drive connected that they intend to install Windows on, then once Windows is installed, they connect the rest of the drives.

At any rate I'm glad you've got it up and running again!

when i heard 30 mins to regain and 30 mins to reboot instantly i thought 1tb mechanical drive is failing. but why not replace both the ssd and hd while your at it. the rest of the pc looks like fine specs. i install with all drives connected and never have issues / shrug

did you read my last post?I bought an 1TB SSD to replace my hdd and i also installed Windows on it so my old ssd is now random storage only.
