I turn the PC and LCD off every night.

I turn off my monitors at night, but not the computers. I'm impatient. :p

This is a new PC (10 days old), so it boots and shuts down quickly.

I'm _that_ impatient. And it would kill my DC stats. :D

remeber win98 :Q a restart every few hours at least.

My XP boxes are up for at least 3 months at a time. The only time they go down is when I update either software or hardware. My Macs at work are the same...they don't go down unless I intentionally restart. Back in the 95 days I would just shut the computer down after I used it because it was the only way to keep it stable.

My record uptime...

Wasn't too long ago, I had to shut down the computer to install the 6800GT :), I'm sure it would have lasted another week until the power went out (Hurricane Charley). This is on a daily use computer, I probally used it every single day, installed and uninstalled various programs, and watched pr0n o' plenty on that uptime.

EDIT: May 27th to August 5th.. :)

Back in freshman year of college, my main rig ran NT4. It stayed online the entire year.

After that, I started paying the electricity bill.

And 3 months is nothing. I get that onmy iBook without putting it to sleep using only the battery.

Was a little surprised when I checked my Linux server at home:

16:22:17 up 237 days, 1:08, 4 users, load average: 2.00, 2.00, 2.00

Didn't think that machine has been running that long. My main machine is only on 3 days, but that is because I shut it down while I was out of town for a while.
