Computer turns on by itself

I dunno what would cause this, and I hope there's an easy fix. Whenever I shut down my comp, it turns back on by itself maybe 15-30seconds later. In order for me to turn the comp off, I have to shut it down, then flip the power switch on the power supply.

Disconnect the pwr and reset switches that run from the front of the case to the mainboard and flip the rocker on the back of the psu to see if it turns on. Does it power up automatically? If not use a screwdriver (or other metal object) to "jumper" or short the two pins for the pwr switch to turn the system on, then wait 5 seconds and do it again to turn it off. Does it still power on automatically?
 
Usually that problem is caused by your bios. Go into the power management section in your bios and turn off "wake on lan", "wake on ring" or any other "wake on xxxxx" options. Basically your phone line or cable modem is turning your pc back on, i always turn those off on any new pc i build for customers because of the same problem you describe.

There's also an option under Power Management called "AC back Function" (might be called something different in your BIOS). This basically means which of the following states should the PC return to when AC power resumes:

1. Last state before AC power off
2. Stay off
3. Turn on

Can you change this to "Off"?

I guess you might have a problem with your PSU or motherboard mounting (might have a short). Also if the power switch is not smooth, the spring might not be fully extending itself after you pressing it, and thus triggering anothre pulse after some time (when the spring is fully released) - so try swapping with the reset switch and see if the same happens.


 
So last night I turned it off, and it turned back on. I then turned it off again, and it stayed off this time. So I'll see what happens again tonight when I shut it down.

And It still does it. Must just be a short somewhere. I guess I'll have to live with it, because I don't feel like destroying anything by accident heh.
 
I had my computer doing the same exact thing, started doing it now and then, then over a couple weeks, wouldnt shut down and stay off at all.
Put in a another psu, problem fixed, i didn't believe it, so i put my Antec 400 back in, made sure all connections were tight, back to starting back up again, put other psu back in, problem fixed again, so bought a new Fortron and scrapped the Antec..
