Computer turning itself off and on

Hi,

My computer has recently started turning itself off and on after I turn it on (it turns itself off before the initial beep, waits a few seconds and trys again automatically - it can go on for quite some time).
When I see it has done this several times and still hasn't continued up to the OS I have to turn it off with the switch of the power supplier at the back of the computer and then turn it back on and hope it will work this time, because apperently the computer randomly works sometimes.. so I just have to desperatly wait next to the computer and wait until it works.

Also, the computer that's giving me this problem is a totally new computer than I've baught a few weeks ago and had problems already then with the motherboard so I had to replace that part, then when I got the new motherboard and installed it this problem started, it didn't happen before.

Would appretiate a solution (hoping for an easy one!) for this problem if anyone has encountered it before or know what's it about.
Thanks in advance!

Possible HSF not mounted correctly, ram not seated correctly, HDD dying, PSU failing and or alien abduction. Welcome and please give some thought to providing some info that might help someone narrow down your problem.

Alright then, though I'm not sure exactly what info I should give so I'll just write down my hardware specification.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-P35-S3L
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
Video Card: Asus EN8600GTS 256MB
Memory: Super Talent DDR2 2GB 667Mhz (Dual Pack)
Hard Disk: Western Digital 250GB SATA2

If you need to know anything else ask away.

The problem I had before with the computer was that the motherboard wasn't recognizing an internet connection whether it was through the inboard net card or a normal one, so I gave it back to the shop and they replaced it with a new one of the same type. But this problem of the computer not even getting to the initial beep and shutting down, then restarting on its own only began when I rebuilt the computer after I got the newer motherboard from the shop.

Any help would be appretiated!

knowing now what your computer did before helps more than anything.
assuming that you replaced the motherboard with the same model and revision i can only suggest that human error may be involved so check your plugs and connections.
If it stays on longer after it's been off for a while your problem may be heat. make sure your HSF is applied correctly.
If you still get no love i would say that this board hates you also.

It's hard to blame individual parts when only internet didn't work before.

That's everything the computer has done before, just turn itself off and on.
Now however, the computer won't make that beep sound at the begining no matter how long I wait or let it restart itself.

I've tried checking all of the hardware by unplugging or replacing it with others and apperently the problem is either with the CPU or with the motherboard, which would suck cause I've just replaced it 🙁

Also, it's not this board that hates me, it's just that I am cursed with computers >.< So many computer bugs all the time for me...

if all your parts worked before and now they don't when all you changed was the motherboard i would suggest the blame goes there.

If your luck is that horrible maybe it's time to throw in the towel and get a pre-made one.

Actually it does sound like the new motherboard is bad, although wether it was in fact defective or you somhow damaged it during installation I have no way of knowing.

Perhaps you should return it to the shop one more time & have them install the replacement for you?
