Computer temperature

I keep hearing about how high temperatures effect computer performance and how long the computer components last. My question is is there such a thing as cooling your computer down too much to a point where it hurts the performance of the computer and how long it lasts?

it can never be to cool. the cooler you go the better.

If it gets too cold in your case than condensation will form and you'll be sad because your computer will blow up.

That would suck. Does that really happen with some cooling solutions?

What would happen if you built your computer in a small fridge sized freezer?

Anything that cools your comp to below room temp can cause condensation. So, people who use peltiers, vapochill, etc, have to be careful. Standard air and water cooling won't cool them that much (unless its really humid and you just filled up your water system). And too cold can harm the life of your CPU too, but you have to be in the -100C range if I remember correctly.

Condensation is the only problem, which happens with non-traditional cooling systems.

hardocp had an incident where they cooled a p4 too much, the difference in temperature from the die to the heatspreader caused it to pop off like an overshaken soda can, instantly killing the cpu. the problem with cooling thtat cold is cooling EVENLY that cold, cause it jsut dosent happen, and large temperature differntials are not good. theoretically, the cooler the better thouh
