computer stutters on boot up

Anywho, I had this computer for about a week, with the first few days for tinkering/OCing/stressing. Now after that process, im using the computer like normal, but now, whenever i press the power button to turn the computer on, it would start spinning the fans for a second, then shuts off for another second, and then proceeds to booting up normally. Do you think the PSU is hiccuping due to the overwhelming (which i doubt) demand of power? Is there anyway that i could possibly be undervolting the CPU thus causing the disruption of power upon bootup?
 
There is no overwhelming demand of power here.

When it "starts spinning the fans for a second, then shuts off for another second" do you have to do anything to have it "then proceed to booting up normally"?
 
Then it's probably the motherboard.. and may actually be normal behaviour for that board.

You should post in the mobo forums asking others with P35-DS3L boards how their PC powers up.
 
Im pretty sure it is the board. Mine does that.

A side note: Dont get an antec Neo Power with that board. For some reason it just keeps going in an endless loop.
 
I've got a P35-DS3L, and I get that from time to time. As far as I can remember, it only happens for me after disconnecting and reconnecting the power cord in back. (i.e., after I've been working on the computer in one way or another.)

I don't think it's anything to worry about as long as all other signs point to your computer being stable.
 
Some people using ABIT based P35 boards had a thread going and were calling this the double boot issue. It's simply a characteristic of the chipset and can vary from board to board and from bios version to bios version. If something occurs that causes the bios to detect a change in the checksum, it will pause and restart during reboot as it checks or changes the chipset strap. Other than it being slightly annoying it's nothing to worry about.

Ive noticed that sometimes after it does the double boot some of the settings in the bios reset. Hmmmm.

I wouldnt think so. Not all of the settings I change reset when it happens.
