Computer stuck at crcdisk.sys

My wife did a hard shutdown on my computer and the next time I tried to start it up, it hung at the microsoft screen. I tried in safe mode and it loaded to \drivers\crcdisk.sys and hung there. I then tried to do a reinstall from a windows disk, same problem. I then changed to a new hard drive and it loaded and worked for about 3 days. The same problem happened again. i have now tried a clean install on 3 hard drives no luck. I checked my memory by removing all but 1 stick, dissembled everything and put in a new case, i was going to do that anyway, and checked all connections. could this be a motherboard or processor problem? hard ware? fyi, I was running vista 64 on nvidia mb, core 2 duo, 4 gig ram. Thanks

Microsoft said to delete the following files. They were not all on my drive but that fixed the problem.

C:\windows\system32\drivers\pcmcia.sys
C:\windows\system32\drivers\1394bus.sys
C:\windows\system32\drivers\ohci1394.sys
C:\windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository\pcmcia.infblablabla
C:\windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository\1394.infblablabla
C:\windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository\sdbus.infblablabla
C:\windows\inf\sdbus.inf
C:\windows\inf\sdbus.PNF

Taking the system down to 1 DIMM of RAm doesn't really check if the RAM is ok or not. You'll need to run Memtest 86+ to check the RAM. Google it and you'll find it. Its an ISO you'll burn to a CD and then boot from that CD to start the memory test. Its sounding like you may have bad RAM that is currupting the HDD(s).
