Id recommend connecting the computer to home audio. Its free, and has much better SQ!
But i approve of those Altecs, good luck

Altec Lansing ATP-3. 6.5-inch Subwoofer. 2 3-inch mid ranges, 4 1-inch kevlar tweeters. Awesome lows, nice mid range and amazingly crisp and clear highs. Proud owner too!

I was at a store today and heard the Altec 221's right next door to a Logitech Z-340 and they sounded in the highs a bit cleaner and the Bass seemed at least with the music they had for demo to keep up also. Not bad for $38.00 at NewEgg. I have the Logitech Z-340 and love them for their low price but these Altecs suprised me.

So tell us your impression? A tip for nice and deep bass to to place the subwooer about 3-4ft away from you and in a wood enclosure. My sub is currently in my computer/t.v "armoire" which is made up of plywood. When I close it up the bass is 2x louder!
