I really need a better speaker system. I mean I know audiophiles are all anti bose but they have to be somewhat good still for the average user?

That's probably your best bet if you want to get a sound output device from them. Maybe I'm not going to the right section, but it looks like their comptuer speaker section really doesn't have many options. I wouldn't go with anything they have there in the audio areas.

$300 can get you a pretty nice 2.1 computer setup.
Something like Swan m200s + Dayton 10" or 12" sub for example.

Meh, they'd probably be better than what you currently have. Go with it if you don't expect much.

Klipsh makes decent computer speakers. I think the Swans + Dayton is gonna cost a bit more than 3 bills.

Swan m200 $174
Dayton 10" $100

= $274

Cables to get everything hooked up from a computer source:
http://www.cablesforless.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=106
http://www.cablesforless.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=88
http://www.cablesforless.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1920
= ~$9

So about $283 or so with the 10" sub.

With 12" it would be about $304

Spending a few more bucks on cables wouldn't be a bad idea either, but it's certainly the $300 range.
