In windows my compuer is realy slow. But in games I get 100-200fps and it runs smooth, only thing is that the maps load slow. Im guessing that I need more ram, but for some reason I think its more then this. Possibly a software/driver problem.

for example.... when i go into a LARGE "600+mb" folder of images in cuteftp the icons for the image load SLOW and it takes a while before i can browse the folder. Same thing happens with any other image viewer. With everything else "movies and so on" they run slow as well. But once loaded the app/movie runs fine.

What would you say my problem is?

My rig...

sometimes a corrupted file will cause windows explorer to slow down tremendously. Divide the huge folder into smaller ones and see if that helps or isolates the problem file.

have you done a complete scandisk and defrag lately?

is your paging file on a hard drive with plenty of free space?

Well.. I just formatted all of my drives to ntfs within the past week. so everything there is fine. the drive with the page files on it "c:/" has like 20gb of free disk space. BTW... should I fix the page file? or let windows do it for me? When I specify a size for the page file I never see a performance increase. But who knows, it might help in this situation.
