My friend just called me and said that her computer has been acting up lately... For no reason, without warnings it just shuts down. It doesn't matter what she is doing. It has a P3 MB (I believe VIA based) and a celeron 566 cpu.
Any ideas what might be causing this? Faulty PS, maybe???
TIA

Possibly processor fan going bad, and thus processor getting too hot, causing the mobo to shut down?

Just a wild guess.

Power supply is a possibility but I'm guessing the reason is somehow related to heat. Is the climate she's in right now warm?

Bad stick of ram possible too but change out the power supply and see what happens.
