Computer shuts off after a few seconds after initially turning on then back on again

I recently purchased a MSI Z77A-GD65 for my 2600k and a new 750W PSU (Cooler Master GX 750W). When I turn the computer on after having been plugged in and off for a while, the computer will never display anything to the screen and about 5 seconds later will turn off. A few seconds later, maybe 3, the computer turns back on by its self and then I can operate the computer without any issues. I only have an HD4850 so I wouldn't think that its my PSU even though that's what it's indicative of. BTW it does this overclocked or not.

Thanks,
Vince

I had the same issue on my P8Z68-v PRO. I solved it by changing a setting in the bios (I think it was "option ROM") to "keep current". Not sure how you will fix it on an MSI board.

This is the oldest and most frequent of SB mobo issues all the way from Jan 2011. Its called the double boot.
Basically its a reset and causes no harm to the system
The bios boots, sees something icky then resets and tries again.
The most common fixes are using XMP profile for RAM, disabling any controller not in use with something attatched, slow detecting SSD or DVD or BRD, and for ASUS disabling internal PLL O/V

Can also be stuff in boot order in the way for first boot, like eSATA. FWIW no HDD has to be in boot order in bios (disabled) if not booting. Win 7 will see it fine and it will work as expected. This is a nice way to speed boot time, since bios has less to figure out.

Keep current, not force bios also eliminates unnecessary checking around the controllers.
