computer shut down

my computer randomly shuts down. i have to unplug the power supply to boot up again. the fan on the cpu works. please help thanks. jim

My first guess would be overheating or a PSU issue - what type of computer is it? Please list as much detail as you can.

Do you get a blue screen or does it power straight down?
