Computer Shut Down While Gaming, Won't Start Back Up

I was playing Division and my computer shut straight down to black screen, computer completely off and did not attempt to reboot. Could still see power to the mobo as the power button was lit up (I have an onboard power button). My Hue+ was still lit up and my mouse and keyboard had lights on.

Decided to test the PSU by disconnecting everything and shorting it and the fan spun up, so that didnt seem to be the issue.

Randomly tried to turn the computer on with the graphics unplugged from the PSU and the computer spun up. Tried reconnecting the card and nothing.

Busted out my old 770 and hooked it up and the computer is on and I am typing on it right now.

Kind of a weird situation, which is why I put this in Components. Thought it was the PSU for sure, but its kind of looking like the graphics card. I don't really have anywhere to test as all my other computers dont have strong enough PSU's, so I am wondering what I should do.

Thanks

It sounds like you found the problem and you need a new video card.

I dont think you've necessarily ruled out the PSU. If the other card drew more voltage it could have been PSU related death of the video card that you aren't seeing on the lower amperage 770. If it were my rig and I were spending $250++ on a video card I'd also replace the PSU for $50-75 and consider it insurance to not fry the next card.

During booting the power draw should be similar. The PC boots with one card and does not boot with the other.
