I am hoping this is a simple problem, ive taken this apart about 5 times so far. Anyway, here goes-
I built my brother a comp recently, and it is not my first build. Turned it on, installed vista, set the whole thing up and was running fine. I moved the comp upstairs. I came back the next day, booted it up, and got an error message. Stupidly, I did not write it down, figuring a reboot would probably fix it. I tried to reboot, only to find that the computer stopped outputting video.
Both power connectors are hooked up. Video card has power. All fans (including cpu fan) spin, hd spins, case lights turn on, optical drive spins, psu fan spins.
Am I looking at a dead cpu? The psu is new, and although it could be that, I highly doubt it.
Other info-
cpu/hsf both cleaned with rubbing alcohol prior to applying as5. The motherboard light turns on and so does the cpu fan, so im thinking is unlikely for the motherboard to be toast.
Please lmk if you guys have any ideas. Thanks, Max
