Computer show machine or major box maker?

Went to the computer show last week. Major one. How reliable are the systems you will find at these? There seems to be a $200-$300 cost savings for a loaded PIII versus a Dell or Gateway machine. Is there a qualitly gap there?

The only good advice you'll be getting from us is "make your own". We know nothing of these "computar makers" you speak of

in my opinion all prebuilts suck, the best thing in my opinion is to make your own.

Yeah, with a prebuilt you're asking for trouble, if you really want to get one though, make sure you check that all the componenta are quality, no PC-Chips motherboards or anything.
