computer running too hot?

I just fiinished build a new Athlon 1.4 and i have tnoticed that my temps are quiet high. According to the temps in the setup menu on my Epox 8k7a the CPu temps are anywhere between 48C and 55C while the system temps are around 32C to 36C. These temps look awefull hot. I'm using the stock HSF and paste stuff that i got with my retail CPU. My case is an Lian Li 60 and i have the emeorex 350 watt CPU.

Can somebody help me lower temps? Thanks!

Those temps are very acceptable, but they could be 5-10C lower.

Did you use goo-gone and get the pink stuff off of the bottom of the heatsink? Did you use rubbing alcohol ro get all finger oils off of both the CPU-CORE and the heatsink? Did you make sure it is mounted tightly? Is it getting good airflow (airflow in case can make a HUGE difference of 10C or more). You probably need to be moving between 30 and 60 CFM of air for thatr type of setup. So 1 bigger intake and 1 bigger outtake, or 2 of either.

no i used the pink stuff on the bottom of hte stock heatsink. Rubbing Alcohol? err nope, but it was a pain in the ass getting that heatsink on. First time i've done it and i read all the stories about how peopel are crushing their core. So i tried being extra careful putting it on.

The heat sink is on quote tight, no movement on it at all. Airflow, well it has the Fan on the heat sink blowing air right on it. Then directly to the left the case fan is blowing air across it and directly on top the emeroex PSU is taking the hot air and blowing it out of the coputer. Also there at 2 case fans on the bottom of the case sucking in air from teh front, but there is a screen in front of it.

I'm not very knowledgable about fans, except that it's quiet loud right now in this new computer. What do you mean by 1 larger and 2 larger?

sohcrates yeah i've read in here alot about people getting 36-40C on their CPU temps. So i was getting worried that i crapped up.

i believe amd says that under 65c is acceptable.

i believe tunaboo was implying you should take off your stock HSF goop and put on arctic silver or something. this is really unecessary unless you are planning on overclocking

OC'ing or not you should remove that pink frag tape and replace it either with artic silver or even plain vanilla thermal paste. Paste works a lot better than that frag tape. I'm also using a stock HSF but removed the pink tape and sanded down the bottom with a 400 sandpaper and a little of artic silver and doing 38-41 C on a 1.1ghz. Before it was maintaining 55-58 C!😎
