relevant (i think) specs:

amd 939 3000+
6800gt
WD 160gb
epox 9nda3

earlier this week i tried to download some pictures from my canon powershot a70. i plugged the camera in, and it wasn't recognized as a newly installed hardware device. about 5 seconds later, i got BSOD type thing talking about a core memory dump. computer shut down after that. i tried to reboot, but there was no output from my hardware to the monitor. the computer is clearly turning on, and my hdd light is flashing, but my monitor acts like nothing's on at all. i checked my monitor cables and they are all plugged in and working fine. is this a mobo problem? i don't really know where to start. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

1) you do have your ATX12V plug plugged in, right?

2) ...and the GPU power too, I assume your 6800GT takes one.

3) what brand & model is the power supply?

I got to go nighty-bye :moon: but there are further suggestions to check in this document.

Hey Luka,

When you start your computer do you get the BIOS Screen?

If yes, go into BIOS and make sure you video settings are correct, if not fix them or restore the defaults.

If no, your ROOTED  Have you tried plugging in the VGA cable into your onboard video and seeing if that works?

Good luck man!

Slick

So I got married, went on my honeymoon, and moved, so I didn't deal with this for a month. In the meantime, it magically fixed itself for about a week on its own (turned it on one day and it booted up fine). As of today, however, the same problem has happened again. I tried resetting the CMOS; that didn't help. My PSU is an Enermax (Whisper 2?) model is EG465. My PSU plugs are plugged in and so is the one for the video card. I don't get to BIOS. My mobo post error indicator gives me error number 25, which says "reserved" (very helpful).

Have you tried plugging in the VGA cable into your onboard video and seeing if that works?

Where would I find my onboard video? I'm not seeing anything that that cable can plug into other than my video card.

Past that, do you guys have any other advice? Thanks.
