Computer restarts when trying to start games????

It doesn't happen every time....but it happens alot!!! What would cause my computer to restart when I try to start a game from my cd drives (both the cd and dvd drives)??? Is this an active x problem, or a driver problem??? TIA for any advice!

when did this start to happen? what change(s) did you make before the problem arised?
Is it related a specific game?

Id guess the soundcard...happened to me a bit when i isntalled my sblive! improperly.
When I did a clean install...it fixed it.

I believe the problem started after I installed the Diablo II XPac....I don't remember it happening before that..
