computer restarts on its own help!!!!!!!

My computer keeps restarting on its own the error message when reported to ms says its a device driver, Ive uninstalled and reinstalled many of my drivers with the most updated driver available on the hardwares websites to no avail.

however whenever I scan with an online virus scanner the computer shuts down in the middle of the scan every time. also when i use my onboard norton antivirus software it does the same thing. any ideas would be greatly apreciated.😕

You need to give any info about changes you have made to hardware or software recently.

This is also common of an underpowered or failing power supply.

First you need to disable auto-restart (Assuming your using XP). My Computer->Properties->Advanced->Startup and Recovery:Settings
Then post the error message you get with the BSOD (Blue screen of death).

Thanks I actually ended up formatting my harddrive and reinstalling my os and software
Hopefully this will work
