Just resently I got my son a compaq computer (6 months or more).
He got some kind of virus on it and it attached itself to the recovery partition of the hard drive.
when ever i tried to recover the system using the recovery partition it just recovered the system in the same state that it was (with the virus) so i used the windows xp home disk from my system to recover it.
i also upgrading te system with the following items:
1. Radion 9000 vid. card
2. sound blaster live ls
3. Broadxent v.92 PCI Fax Modem

My problem is that when my son plays games on it, it restarts itself after about 30 mins. or so it to the game.

what i'm thinking is it might be over heating because of the extra load that the system has to carry now.
is this possible or does any one have a fix for this problem?
Thanks in advance for anyones help

Get a program like MotherBoard Monitor and see what your system temps are running. That's a start in the right direction. Are all of the fans running properly?

One of your cards may not be happy in its current slot. I would get random bluescreens AND reboots with no warning until I found out that my secondary video card was unhappy in the bottom PCI slot. It could also be your PSU. How do those rails look? MBM will tell you this as well.
