so i was watching this music video on ifilm.com and all of a sudden, my firefox froze. my computer wouldn't respond, as if something as taking up all the CPU cycles...after waiting and trying to end firefox without success, i press the hard reboot button. now my computer goes past the windows boot screen w/ the loading bar and gives me a blank black screen. i think i am at my desktop...but my screen is blank. do you guys think my video card is at fault? or what happened?

edit: i can see my cursor and move it around...nothing else though.

If you hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete, does task manager start up? Does it show any odd processes running that you can kill?

i pressed control+alt+delete multiple times to no avail. if i press the 'my computer' and 'calculator' shortcut on my keyboard, i see the mouse cursor flash a hourglass next to it...
