Hi, I have a pentium 1 computer i'm working on with Windows 98. We are able to get an ip address from our router but unable to ping it. We can't surf the net or anything it seems like we aren't even connected. but when we release and renew we are able to get an ip but that is as far as we can get. we tried uninstalling and reinstalling tcp/ip bindings and that didn't help. same with winsock 2. there is also a dialup modem in which we can dial up and login but same problem, can't surf or do anything. any ideas?

What Ip is it getting ? Can you ping 127.0.0.1 ? Can you ping the IP address of the computer from the computer ?
