My computer always rebooted while paying certain games on my computer. Those games are: GTA San Andreas, Sim City 4, and Flight Simulator 2004. While other games like The Sims 2, and Need for Speed Underground 2 work exelent. But just recently I got a new program called Rosetta Stone which is a program to teach new languages and it requires no 3d rendering. Please help!

Computer specs:

AMD Athlon 3000+ 1.99 GHz
1024 MB RAM/PC 3200
GeForce 6200 256 MB/DDR With TV Out
Windows XP Home

I would suspect that the graphics card is overheating.

Blow the dust bunnies out of your case and check case fans, if that doesn't help you should try another GPU and see if the problem persists

Try leaving the side of your case off and leaving a fan blowing air into the computer. If that doesn't help then perhaps there is something wrong with your video card. In a case like this, you would want to take another video card and install it and test to see if it happens.

Run memtest. Rosetta stone is hardly graphics intensive so I doubt its the video card. I'd be betting on ram or psu.

It had nothing to do with my ram or cpu or gpu it was my sound card... The out dated driver was causing it to reboot when i used programs that used alot of sound fx
