I just put a new motherboard into my brothers computer (an M7NCD Pro from some Intel board) and everytime it starts booting Win Xp Pro it reboots. You can see a flash of hte winxp loading screen before it reboots. He has a 250w PSU, a Radeon 9600, and 1 gig of DDR RAM.

I know the motherboard is fine because I used it before him and it worked perfectly. The motherboard is the only thing I changed into his system.

I've tried starting in safe mode and have tried many other things. Could it possibly be the PSU?

my guess is the power supply or bad ram. my guess is that the power supply is way under what you should be using and id start with that.

i believe, that the power supply, its not supporting your hardware... but i think that you it would have a reinstall your O.S. or format your hd and reinstall all again...
Good Luck

Thanks for the replys guys. I tried swapping out PSU's. I put my 350w in there and same thing happened. The RAM is fine, I've been using it on that board for about 4 weeks now.

I was trying to do the swap without reinstalling the OS/reformatting, but it looks like I'll have to do that anyway, since that is pretty much my last option. Thanks again for your input.

When you swap mobo's, XP will balk at the new hardware.

If you want to see if it's a hardware problem, boot up knoppix or any of the other live linux cd's. If that runs then you know it's your OS.

I'm guessing it's because the proper chipset drivers aren't installed. I usually reformat/reinstall, but if you wanna try to make it work w/o that here's a link to an article detailing how
