Computer Reboots 5-15 times before starting up

Hello,

I recently added 2x1gb of RAM to a gigabyte motherboard. Now I have all 4 slots filled with 1GB sticks. Since this upgrade, everytime I boot my computer it will restart without any beep codes between 5-15 times before it gives the single beep and boots normally. I'm running Windows 7 32bit and a 512mb video card. Does perhaps my BIOS need to be updated? Thanks for the help!

If you take out the ram does the issue go away?

If you put just the new memory in does the issue go away?

Double check the voltage for the ram, is it 1.5v or does it need to run at 1.6 or something?

Does it reboot before windows starts to load or after?

If after can you hit f8 and get into safe mode without any reboots?

Which version of the bios is on the board, or has there been a few updates since the board was released

The BIOS doesn't even load. When it actually boots up... I can restart the computer and it will load everytime. I've seen people report bugs when they fill all four DIMM slots, so I'm not sure if thats the cause. The RAM that was added is the exact same RAM that was already in the system. I did notice that right before it actually boots all the way to windows, it will say recovering BIOS, then it reboots one more time and usually loads. Of course, this problem happened the second I added the 3rd/4th sticks of RAM. I will test and see if the problem goes away when only 2 DIMMS are filled... my guess is it will load as normal.

Motherboard is a Gigabyte 965P-DS3 if that helps. Thanks again!

What exactly do you mean by restart? You wrote the bios doesn't even load so what exactly is it doing and when? Does it completely shut off and turn back on?

After you added the memory did you keep AC power disconnected and clear CMOS? Try that... though if you had custom bios settings you might want to write those down first.

Try bumping the memory voltage a notch or two (+0.1V, then +0.2V) and slightly relaxed (higher #) timings. If these make no difference, return to default values.

Yes you might seek a bios update, they often do improve memory compatibility. However, be sure the system is 100% stable before attempting a bios update... I'd run memtest86+ overnight and use only two modules to improve chances of success.

Well the computer will turn on, meaning the fans will power up but I won't get ANY beep codes from the motherboard, it will appear to be powered on for about 5 seconds then it will turn off and do the same thing again on its own until FINALLY you get the single beep and it boots normally. I will try some of things you said and see if that works. Thanks!
