Build a new computer about 5 months ago worked perfectly, now i'm having troubles with it. Hopfully somebody can help me troubleshoot this.

Spec

ATI 5770
Phemon 955 - put a dark knight cpu cooler
4gb G.Skill ram
500gb hddrive sata
powersupply - http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16817339036

Problem

Everytime I start playing a game (cs:s) it works fine for about 10 mins then the computer just shuts off, sound video everything turns off, but the computer is still on. Not sure what the problem is here? How can I troubleshoot this?

I think its a problem with the powersupply, but i don't wanna buy a new one if its not.

Any help would be appreciated.

More info available on request. I'm sure i'v added all i know though.

Lot of money for a cheap psu.

A ss400-et 400w seasonic with 34a would power your system.

You're psu in theory with 72a should power nearly 3 of your systems. I'm not sure who makes your particular model but a lot of hex are broadcom made, which equals junk in my opinion.

Do you have a friends you can borrow to test with?

Sounds like a PSU issue to me as well. I once had a computer that would be fine while using it, but once it went to screen saver mode it would never come back from a black screen. I had to remove components like a 56k modem and another card the client didn't need. After that it worked fine for about a month or 2 and then the issue came back. Turns out it was a degrading PSU.

What kind of video card are you using? Sounds like the video card may be overheating... is there enough air circulation around the card/case?

Alright, let me know how it goes...maybe your PSU is dying and is leaving your GPU underpowered, that when it tries to draw electricity to power up the shader components, etc, it dies off and shuts it self down.

yeah, im guessing my psu is dieing, everytime i plug in my blackberry to charge it the computer restarts after a while.

For my build, how much would you suggest power my computer would need (wattage).

I do plan on eventually x-fire
