My computer has been randomly hanging up for the last 3 weeks, and I still haven't found out the problem. Let me explain. I can be doing anything (playing a game or just reading AT forums) and the application suddenly freezes. The mouse is still moving though, and the MP3's continue to play. I try to push on buttons (such as the "start" button), and nothing happens (CTRL+ALT+Del does nothing). Suddenly, the mouse freeze, but the MP3 still continue to play normally.
When this happen (the first application hangs), the CPU begins to work at 100%, like if it was running an infinite loop. When the mouse has hanged, I have no choice but to reboot the computer (using the power switch).
I'm running Win2K, and I think it can be related to the OS more than the hardware (since it only began doing this a few weeks ago and the freezes are more and more frequent).
Anyway, does someone knows solution?
