Have a self-built PC. MSI k8 neo 4 SLI mobo w/ AMD 3500. Running two SATA WD drives on RAID 0. BFG 6800gt Vid card. It is mildy OCed to 2400 mhz. I forget RAM but its premium. Rock solid and no over heating issues. Zalman7700 fan.Silverstone upside down case w/ windtunnel. Did Prime 95 and Memtest 86 all day no probs.
Running XP Pro. It was running fine for 6 months, then a while back it started just clicking off and re-booting. It seemed to have started not long after we had a power "blink" here, but it maybe coincidental. I ignored it but it gradually started shutting off more frequently. Alot of times it was when I was clicking on something with the mouse.I thought it was some virus but I ran ALL XP updates and NORTON AV has always been up to date. It doesn't seem to be a virus. Before I go changing out all the hardware individually, should I check anything first? I did try backing off the oc and it had NO affect whatsoever.
Oh, forgot to mention that all voltages read as they should (OVC Powerstream 550 watt PU), and when it clicks off, the temps are fine- 45 C or so. The only windows error messages I get are upon reboot and the "The system has recovered from a serious error".. Please help. I am thinking first of formating and reloading XP
