I have been having a problem with my computer lately in which 2 minutes into any game, the computer just randomly restarts. Does anyone know what can cause this?
Specs:
Windows XP Home
intel 1.7 gig
786 md RD-ram
geforce4 ti4400 asus v8440
Sb Live
abit th7 mobo
16X prioneer dvd
300w Apollo power supply

i think something goes wrong maybe with the graphic card drivers and win xp
restarts immediately as this is a default option. To change this settings right click
my computer/properties/advanced/startup and recovery,

but this will not solve the problem only windows will not restart if the problem
are causing the graphics card drivers.

try installing some new drivers or adjuyst bios settings to it's defaults to see if this
helps.

I had a similar problem when playing anythign that needed 3d grahics. I have an old tnt2 card and I updated the detonator drivers and all worked well after that... I suggest downloading the current drivers and hopefully that will fic your problem.

unfortunately there are no new drivers, i've yet to test the temps for the case, but i know i have enough fans;
so far im figuring out that the 2 256 rd-ram sticks were causing the problem, does anyone know how much voltage these things pull?

I had the exact same problem

In addition to lots of other posts from people with similar problems. Good chance it's a power issue unless you've been running the geforce4 4400 on that system for a long time now, and have only had the restarting problem recently.

Try a friend's quality power supply, it'll only take a couple minutes.
