With this question being asked multiple times a day i thought it might be a good idea to form sort of an open guide. The polls above we rank the PSU's.

After a while i will compile the results and form a guide.

Hopefully this will but down on the same question being asked over and over.

I know this is an enormous poll but im hoping it will work.

**Remember this is the most Powerful out there: Meaning that companies Top O' The Line unit. Price is not a factor. Noise isn't a factor, No modding**

-Kevin

Edit: I Voted: #1: OCZ #2. PC P&C #3: Enermax (If there were a number 4 i would vote Antec)

This may be a matter of perception under various scenarios of "whether price and reputation continue to matter when a serious challenger has entered the market" and "what reviews the individual may have read in recent months."

I made the same choices -- OCZ #1, PCP&C #2 -- but selected Fortron for #3. A month or two earlier, I would have easily put PCP&C in first place.

[Meanwhile, it is time to check the UPS tracking site for progress on my PowerStream 520 arrival. Here's a question: If I got it for $133.50 with no S/H and no state tax, did I get a "soch a good deaul?"]

Whoever makes the massive 700w redundant PSUs for the big ol' Intel brick servers :).

Note: Antec, OCZ, Silverstone, and Seasonic do not make PSUs.

You FAILED to mention Vantec. Their 'Stealth' line of psu's are awesome. PC Power and Cooling would run a close second.

I thought Seasonic was the 2nd largest manufacture of PSU's?

Considering they're some of the most respected names in PSUs, I'd have to say you're insane. Or do you mean that what they sell are just rebrands?

Rebranding and minor mods. Though lately Antec has been doing enough that they might as well be making them (like with a couple lan cases and the passive PSU). Vantec, as already mentioned, too.

For people who picked PCP&C over OCZ why? I knew that it would be between the two of them, but i wasn't sure how close. I am not asking this question to be whining it doesn't bother me but when i write up the guide i am using Fact based instead of my opinion.

Thanks,
-Kevin

Hmm, my prefered brand is Seasonic for low noise and stability. I don'r know if it's the most powerfull though.

Most powerful isn't neccesarily so important as other aspects...

If I had to pick a number 1 trait to judge a PSU by, I'd go with most efficient.

OCZ themselves have admitted thier PSU's are meant to compete with PC&C. The difference is that PC&C are bulit by egineers, so they are in some ways over engineered for the normal users, i would compare them to an armored hummer. if your doing mission cirital, that kind of security is priceless, but if you are looking for reliable power it might be overkill. OCZ better than Antec but cost more, so it should be considered more of an enchaned antec rather than a whole higher class. I would put forton about even with OCZ both of them have slightly higher quality control than antec. Antec is a good brand for value, nothing great, but not terrible either, its just average, but in general most people only need average, so with its lower price and the most common needs of consumers the fact its average isn't really a liabilty.

pcp&c has 1% regulation vs. 3% for ocz and others. it also has 10mv ripple vs. 50mv for other brands.

pcp&c (510 deluxe, 425 deluxe) has the tightest regulation and cleanest output ratings over any other brand.

i had a 510 deluxe, but now use a ocz 520 btw.... :)

Kevin, I've been a member of the AT forums since before 1999 (when it was moved HERE).
I assure you that posting any type of "guide" will not slow down the torrent of "What _______ should I get?" postings.
Blame it on poor reading comprehension, or just wanting to see "their own username" in lights...
AT members (almost without exception), WILL post redundant threads no matter what you do.
