Ok this is my ticket for ATI but it explains whats going and i hope you guys can help!!!

Ok i'am having a problem with my computer, i have asked around some tech forums and people say its my video card.

First off heres the problem, After about 3-5minutes into an application, like World of Warcraft, i get warped graphics. Also when i exit the game and window out i have horizontal and vertical lines across my screen, the are usually pink and green in color. Also i now get those lines while simply browsing the itnernet without opening any 3D applications. I have tried the following things:

-updated the drivers
-rolled back the driver's
-checked to see if it was my monitor by plugging my computer into another monitor and the same thing happens
-i tried cleaning the inside of my computer using compressed air, the ones that we can use to clean the computer.
-i checked to see if all the fans worked in my comp and they all seem to be spining.
-i have an Antec VGA cooler and a Harddrive cooler to help things stay cool inside.
-i have relocated the computer to a more cool area

After trying all of these problems i dont know what exactly to do anymore. I think it might be that the card is "burnt out"??

well im not sure but even if it did im sure most games wont so i need to know if its my vid card thats screwy. I let just let it cool down for about an hour so its not even hot and i booted up WoW and Heroes V and i got the pink vertical lines again????help please

Huh..the first thing I would assume is that your GPU is overheating, but you seem to be keeping it pretty cool. Have you tried measuring the temps, just in case? I'd recomend doing that. Other then that though....

Your GPU is gradually dying. The same thing's been happening to my 7900gt over the past week or so. Now basically every game artifacts and then freezes with the display blinking on and off until I reboot (except Oblivion, for some reason). I've put my 6600gt back in until I can RMA it, which may not be for a while since I'm going to Indiana in less than a week. The best advice I can give you is to see if you're still under warranty for the card, and if not then consider it an opportunity to upgrade I guess.

ok i was thinking about upgrading to a Sapphire X1600pro(512mb) video card, which is pretty good i think for an agp card. Im not ready to upgrade the whole system yet, as i want to see AM2 and i want to give Vista a good year or two to work out its kinks before i dive into that🙂 anyhow whats the feedback on the x1600 as im looking to buy that today when i get off of work🙂

NOTE: Also since im buying the Sapphire branded Card do i have to go to Sapphire for drivers or do i use the ATI site???
