Building a computer for a friend of mine. Put it all together and go to turn it on. CPU fan turn one time around and nothing else happens. There is also a green light on the motherboard tht turns on whenever the powersuply is plugged in. so I know motherboard is getting some power.

specs:
asus a7m266 mobo
athlon xp 1.5ghz
512mb kingston ram
msi gf2 ti
30 gb harddrive
generic floppy
case /w 300 watt ps

I've checked all the connections for powerswitch, power leds, etc. Have setup this motherboard in serveral other computers and never had a problem. Taken everything out that isn't neccessary to boot. and I'm stumped...please help.

thanks

Seems like a lot of people are having this general problem. I know I've had it before. You haven't mentioned anything about RAM, so I would try a stick of RAM that you know is working. If that doesn't work, switch out the power supply with one that you know is working. That should clear everything up. Hope this helps.
