im trying to reload xp on an older computer and im running into a problem...for one if i boot the system straight up it goes to a error screen...i went to setup and changed boot sequence to CDROM as first and it acts like its loading the xp settings...then when it says starting windows i get a blue screen that says "The bios in this system is not fully ACPI compliant. contact ur vendor at www.hardware-update.com (which i cant do becuase i cant get into windows) Then it says i can turn off ACPI mode during text mode setup? i dont know how to get to that...it says to do this simply press the F7 key when you are prompted to install storage drivers?

Please help guys

my error message on booting without the cd says "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \windows\system32\config\system

you can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the original setup CD-ROM
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair"
