computer problem

Hi

I have been reciving the following messege when i try to install or delete programs from my computer, the wierd thing is it only happens on a few programs and not all programs

messege = "the windows installer service could not be accessed. this can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed. contact your support personnel for assistance"

I have try restoring my computer to a earler time but it hasnt sorted the problem

Have you tried the Windows Update site? There was a new version of windows installer as part of the Windows Verification download. Use the express option and see if it will update Windows installer.
