computer problem? =P

Can anyone help me figure something out here, i bought a new motherboard and processor, and when i put it together and get it hooked up, it will turn on but that's all it will do, my monitor doesnt turn on, if i take something out like the ram, i cant even get a error sound from the motherboard, would anyone know whats wrong? I have a 1.1ghz thunderbird and a A7V motherboard :confused:

Check the video card seating... then the ram, then the cpu, then check your IDE cables are correctly setup (I know that some boards won't run unless you setup their IDE settings right...) Also Check your speaker connector to the motherboard so you can hear if any beeps are sounding...

well me and my two friends tried for 6 hours trying to get it to work, and we made sure everything was plugged in right, but still nothing

cpu could be dead. Thats what happend to me when my system had the same sympton...

u know the drill, take everything out of the case, lay mobo on cardboard, plug in cpu, ram, video, monitor, power supplies, short the power-on pins on the mobo with something metal like a screwdriver or a knife (be careful not to touch anything else...see if it will post

try resetting the CMOS by shorting the jumper on the mobo

TumBO, yep thats next ;). I find if the cpu is bought retail it is easier to get a cpu replaced than it is to work with a resaler on gettin a mobo replaced...

My guess is the motherboard, but you're just going to have to take everything out and put your components in one by one to determine what's wrong.
