Computer not turning on, I hear a little sound from it, what is that?

Hi all,

My computer was working fine one day, next day I went to turn it on and nothing happens.

I have tried another power supply and same problem. I took out all the components (cables, pci cards, memory, etc.), and also tried to turn it on.

I do hear a little sound coming from it, almost sounds like zap, like power is going through. What is that sound???

This is an ECS motherboard that I just received from an RMA directly from ECS, it looked brand new from them. Has been working fine for a few months since I received it.

So could it either by by motherboard or CPU?

Have you tried resitting all the Chips? Replace your RAM with a working RAM and check if it works or not. Otherwise the problem boils down to your motherboard or CPU.

take it all apart and rebuilt with the least amount of items you can no HDD or CD/DVD etc
