I was running stress tests using Prime95 on an AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 3.9 (1.475v). It initially passed OCCT ~30 min and Linpack ~30 min. Temps on CPU never rose above 60c and averaged about 57-58c on load (Idle @ about 46-47c). I put on a movie on my other rig and left Prime95 running. I later noticed that the computer had been turned off on its own. I tried pushing the power button with no response. I tested the power supply which was working, and even swapped in another one with still no response. I noticed that there was a slight surge of power as the LED fan on the front of the case would light up for half a second. I've already dismantled everything and attempted a bare bootup (Motherboard, CPU, 1 stick of RAM, GPU) with still no response. I've also popped out the CMOS battery and put it back in to no avail 🙁. Lastly, I did notice a slight flickering sound coming from the PSU even though it's tested to be working. I suspect that the culprit is a blown motherboard. The board also has a loose NB heatsink, but I'm not sure about anything on that as I instructed my friend on how to install his Mugen 2.

Specs: 955 BE + 4g DDR3-1600 G.Skill + 700w OCZ modstream + CM 690 II + 5850
 
Sounds like a bad motherboard. Any other problem would at least start the computer, save for a power supply issue. But you've already tested that.
