It seems that my comp doesn't like me :( (granted it IS a pent 1 233 MMX with 64 mb sdram). I am no newbie to hardware, but it seems that whenever I try to install more than 1 IDE or SCSI drives, it refuses to post. Then I have to do weird stuff like removing all the power cables from the drives, reseating the RAM, or take out all ide or scsi cables, for it to boot. There are 4 ide drive and 1 scsi drive and the power supply is a dinky 235 watt one. I have checked all the cables and they are alligned correctly. yet Any help would be welcome.

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like the power supply can't handle it. Although I am confused by one thing, you say it has 4 ide and 1 scsi drive, but now it will only post if you have 1 or less drives. Did it ever work with five drives?

The drives work fine, as they all power up. The problem is that the computer doesn't want to post with them connected to the computer, even with all the cables in the right place.

like he said, it might be the power supply...the power supply's voltage to the system could be varying (sp) too much. I would definitely try another power supply.
