What do I need to do to make it so I can get two computers online at the same time? Right now only the one in the left most router slot will connect and the other when trying to load a website will say it can't be found.

Connect your modem to your router's wan/internet port. Then the computers to the numbered ports.

You may have a modem with integrated router. Is there a particular model number on it?
Otherwise, you may only have a modem. If that's the case you'll need to acquire a router in order to share the connection to both computers.

And you have the Cat5 cable coming from the modem into the WAN port on the back of that, right? What it sounds like you need to do is grant access for the other computer to access the internet. Do you know how to get into your router? For example 192.168.1.1?

Wait..it's integrated modem/router. But you still may need to grant access. The manual is available Here

It seems as if the router is acting like a DHCP server and will not give out another IP unless you know the password to the router and change the setting which they are forced to give you the password when asked.

Just tell them you want all ports activated on the router.

Whatever ISP you are using, fire them. You are clearly working with tards. Is there a reason why you are using them?

The only choice I have is them or dial up.

I know very little of networking but I knew this ISP was full of morons when three years ago I had to explain to the level three tech support guy what a DMZ was.

WOW that's a first. What ISP is it so we can steer clear of them? :)

One thing you could do, it'll be a bit of a challenge, but to my knowledge it's doable. Since only one port is opened, I'd suggest, since your ISP is full of morons, you'll have to get your own router to plug into their modem/router. Start out by taking your own new router and plugging it in and connecting it just to your computer. If you can find out before you buy, you want a router you can set the IP address on the LAN/WAN for. Anyway, set its IP address to 192.160.0.2. Then connect this router to your ISP's router, and connect your two computers to your new router.

Also, if the problem doesn't rely in the IP Address assignment, it'd be cheaper and more simple to buy a hub and use it in the place of the router. That way you don't need to mess around with assigning its LAN IP address so it won't fight with your modem, and you can plug both of your computers into it.

I'm not 100% certain it'll work, since I've never seen it done before and i don't know the specs on the ISP's modem. In theory, however, it SHOULD work. I do have to say though, I'm not to be held responsible for damages, losses, or anything else caused by you taking my advice.

Gotta break it to fix it right? Is there a reason you're manually assigning ips? Might make life easier if you let the DHCP server handle assignment.

Also wouldn't there be a "conflict message" if two computers on the same subnet had the same ips?

Yes they have to be different IP address's :) Basically the router works like this well normal routers atleast. The router has a IP which thus gives internal IP address to your machine for instance you can use CLASS A IP's in your internal network, on the outside it is whatever your company has.

try 192.168.10.101 then for each pc use 102 then 103 etc...
