You know there's GOOD ramen out there right? Like $9 a bowl Ramen that honestly beats the living crap of GOOD Pho? And I work next to the Vietnamese capital in CA (San Jose), and trust me there's good Ramen out there that will demolish Pho.

But too bad most people think of ramen as cup and noodles.... sigh. BTW, Ramen in Chinese literally means pulled noodles... or hand pulled noodles. That evolved into packaged noodles and then really just instant noodles in the US. In Japan, ramen is like pho in Vietnam. It is their signature dish. It's not some cheap crap "add-water" junk.

i wish i could get ramen here. i get great pho tho, so all's not bad.

For the lan parties we always stuck to Pizza for meals, Pringles for snacks.
And beverages were always Mountain Dew, and sometimes also Coffee.

That said, I'm not really a nerd any more, just a bit of a geek these days...

I've never had Taco Bell but I try to avoid "ramen" noodles, they're not too good for you. They are convenient and tasty though, so I eat them on occasion.

nothing is good for you if all you do is eat and sit in front of the computer all day. :p

unless of course you actually watch the "input ≤ output" rule.

In general, you can literally eat whatever the hell you want. I'm a firm advocate of that, and living proof. Eat what you want, just do what you need to do in order to support the food choices.

Being from Orange County, I beg to differ. You guys are close, but still second.

I'll take a good bowl of ramen over pho for regular meals, but on a cold day or if I'm feeling down, nothing beats the bowl of pho. Except maybe booze and tits.

I never thought of any of those as particularly "nerd" food. usually just late nite drunk off your ass or poor college student food (both types of people are the same, by the way....and computer nerds can easily habit those categories).

I ate at Daikokuya. I liked it so much I went back the next day. Ramen beats pho in my book.

I like udon better if im preparing the dish myself, i found one brand thats head and shoulders above other store bought noodles whether its udon, ramen, or soba.

that said, ive yet to have udon that matched my singular blissful experience at Santouka in LA.

Ramen is Anime Geek food. Not nerd food. Though often (and most of the time) a person can be both they are mutually exclusive.

Cheetoes, Taco Bell, Pizza with anchovies, doritoes and Wow power drinks and sometimes trailmix for the nerds trying to fool themselves into health. Thats nerf food.

Also forgot to mention Lava Pockets.

So far today, I've had stir fry, an orange, a chocolate bar, tea, and a Dr. Pepper. I guess updating our website qualifies as a "nerd" activity.

Straight up nerd food is junk food and caffeinated drinks, not ramen.

Though I prefer not to eat much if I'm doing anything that requires my attention. Just like to drink coffee or tea.

Um, Taco Bell and Ramen are both junk food. The nutritional value of both classifies them as "garbage".
